Student Feedback
End-of-semester student evaluations from five sections I've taught at the English Language Center. All ratings and comments below are anonymous and unattributed, as collected by the program; no student names or identifying details are included anywhere on this site.
"Would you recommend this teacher again?" (0–10 scale)
Average across five sections: 9.05 / 10. Each section had roughly 12–20 student respondents.
In students' own words
A selection of anonymous, unattributed comments from course evaluations, reproduced as submitted (including original spelling/grammar).
“She gave many examples and made us participate a lot during the class, which helped to understand the lesson more easily.”
“She is committed, and she takes care of each student individually before to move forward — that was very helpful especially for me.”
“Bich Nguyen explains grammar rules clearly, gives useful practice exercises, and provides helpful feedback to support improvement.”
“What I liked most about Bich Nguyen's teaching was how organized, patient, and encouraging she always was. I took different classes before, and this teacher is truly amazing — she made learning easier and much more enjoyable.”
“Nguyen Bich has an effective teaching style because she presents information in a clear and organized way, making it easier for students to understand and follow the lessons.”
“It wasn't in her control, but I would like to have harder topics and assignments that challenge me to improve, especially when I recognize that she has the potential as a teacher to help us improve our grammar skills at a higher level.”
Suggestions for improvement across sections were varied and sometimes contradictory — some students asked for a slower pace, others for more challenging material; some wanted more homework, others more interactive group activities and more opportunities to practice speaking in pairs. I use this mix of feedback each semester to look for patterns within a specific group rather than applying every suggestion universally.
